We at the COR Wellness Center are excited that Governor Whitmer has issued an Executive Order allowing gyms to reopen. Starting as of September 21, 2020, our new temporary hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. We will be closed on weekends until further notice. We’re pumped to be up and running again, and we can’t wait to see you back.

Your wellness is why we’re here, so we’re taking extra steps as we welcome you back to COR. Our dedicated staff has been hard at work preparing for your return. Below you will find information on all the measures we are undertaking for your well-being and our commitment to minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the Wellness Center and our community.

Keeping Our Members Safe

Things will look and feel a little different when you return, but our mission is still the same: helping our members achieve their health and wellness goals. With that in mind, we’ve temporarily transformed some spaces. We’ve also enacted enhanced daily cleaning procedures, measures to allow for social distancing and set up more hand sanitizing stations. All of these changes are being enacted for our members’ safety and comply with government guidelines and CDC recommendations to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 in the Wellness Center and our community.

Highlighted below are the various measures we have implemented for your well-being. We know we can’t do this alone, and we’ve highlighted expectations of our members to help us in our effort.

What Our Members Can Do

Face Coverings
  • You must wear a face covering when moving throughout the facility, but you can remove your face covering at your workout area.
Check-in Procedures
  • Every member will be required to scan in when entering the COR Wellness Center.
Equipment Cleaning
  • Members are asked to wipe down any equipment before and after their use.
  • You will find disinfectant products throughout the Wellness Center for your use.
Wellness
  • If you are, or have recently been sick, do not enter the facility.

What Cor Is Doing

Cleaning
  • Daily disinfection of public areas, locker rooms, restrooms and frequently touched surfaces using EPA-approved disinfectants.
  • An electrostatic, peroxide-based sanitizing sprayer will be used to clean large areas.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are set up throughout the COR Wellness Center.
  • Providing disinfectant products throughout the COR Wellness Center to allow you to clean the equipment.
Classes/Classrooms, Studios + Basketball Courts
  • Classrooms, studios and basketball courts are being used as open areas for individual workouts, such as stretches and free weights.
Sauna
  • Both the dry and wet saunas are open.
Machines
  • Machines have been positioned to maintain a 6’ distance between people while working out.
Elevator
  • The elevator is limited to 1 person at a time.
Ventilation Systems
  • Our main air moving equipment use the highest efficiency air filters for which they are capable.
  • HVAC system ventilation rates will maximize the percentage of outside air, up to 100% as available, to further reduce any concentrations of air-borne pollutants in the COR Wellness Center.

The practices and measures above reflect COR Wellness Center’s most up-to-date COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as part of our efforts to mitigate the potential for transmission of COVID-19 in our facility and community. They are based on information available from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and government directives. As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, COR Wellness Center stands ready to revise our policies to reflect changes in guidelines and directives and communicate new recommended practices we adopt.
